Before they get too busy and you miss out!!! --- From the moment our wedding planner shared Pervez's Instagram, we knew we had to meet them. His team's work absolutely stands out in the crowded field of wedding photography. So we scheduled a meeting, and we then had the pleasure of actually meeting Pervez. Funny. Personable. Easy to chat with. And, crucially, calm and collected when it came to dealing with my high anxiety, high-strung parents. Not only that, I knew that with Pervez I wouldn't just be getting a talented photographer, I would also be getting a qualified and capable producer and director (both my husband and I work in media, so we know!). Without us asking, Pervez mapped out how he would capture the wedding shots we hadn't even known we'd want, because he is, essentially, a director leading a high-value production. We knew there would be no questioning glances shot at the bride as photographers scramble to capture the moment the mangalsutra is tied on, no sacred, momentous, or fun moments missed because the team was leaderless. We were convinced Pervez and his team had to shoot our wedding and we booked them without reservation. For the next nine excruciating months as we planned our wedding Pervez held our hands. When we called him to go over wedding details, he first wanted to know how we were coping with the nuptial slog. He took the time to build trust and friendship. And then, during one of those calls, he asked if we had even been to Iceland? I am not a person who is used to being in front of the camera so the idea of going all the way to ICELAND for our pre-wedding shoot seemed downright unfathomable. But then Pervez shared pictures he had shot of another couple in Iceland. And THEN he told us he knew all the best spots because had lived there himself! We were sold all over again. It was an insane experience, but the photos and video he and Jason captured are, I have been told by complete strangers, worthy of the Iceland Tourism Board. And Pervez once again held our hands the whole way, right down to making sure we had hot ramen waiting for us at our hotel on our final night there. At the wedding Pervez, Nicole, Jason, and the whole team pulled off the impossible. I wanted golden hour pictures in the mountains, and if that meant using his sway to book a Jeep and a guide to get us into the mountains because the gondolas were down for the season, then Pervez did it. I thought those would be my favorite pictures from the weekend but no, they were actually the pre-ceremony pictures Pervez insisted we take and which I had, initially, been willing to forego. During the reception we played a short video from the Iceland shoot, and multiple people have asked me for a link because it was, in their words, the best trailer for a romantic action film they had ever seen.
