In typical Hindu & Sikh weddings, the Groom advances to the venue of the marriage in a grand procession referred to as the Wedding Baraat. In a typical Sikh Tradition in a wedding, the Groom is known to arrive by wearing a Saafa & Sahara while carrying around the Kirpan. The groom is accompanied by his groomsmen, family members, friends, and siblings who are referred to as the baraatis.
The traditional mode of transport is the Ghodi (horse). Family members decorate the Ghodi with heavy embellishments for matching the groom The all-new modern twist is replacing the horse for a rickshaw or lavish car or an elephant which is decorated similar to the horse.
The music for the Baraat is known for setting the entire event or marriage, with exciting and upbeat songs that are blasting while the Groom is making his procession.
